Laiya- Tree house

This is where we spent our 2nd  wedding anniversary. It was an awesome experience because we are the only guests. I don't know for some, but to us that's extraordinary. We might have missed to hear the children laughing and the parents singing on videoke but I think the silence has made us hear the waves clearer.

This tree house was the oldest. It doesn't show any luxury in and out but its location is perfect. We can literally hear the waves waking us up. Although we didn't pay attention because we slept until 8am until the manongs started to harvest coconuts. We can hear them falling on galvanized roofs. It's their way of saying, "breakfast is ready."

Anyway going back to the treehouse, at first I wouldn't believe that the restroom was also up there. I've seen the pictures before we traveled but I doubted it. And so, when we arrived at the place, it was the first thing I checked. True enough, it's up there.

Oh by the way, the tree house is air conditioned So, it may have somewhat failed our idea of it having this completely native appeal. However, it was a gift too because it is usually extremely hot at noon.

Bahay Kubo

Bunga ng kahapong paglingat
   sa pangakong sinambit
Sa pag-ibig ngayo’y salat
   buong araw kay pait
Di mapasan ang bigat
   buhat sa sandaling pagkaakit
Pagtangi mang di masukat
   nagdudusa man din sa pagkakapiit

Sa tuwina’y di mapakali
    di maglaho sa gunita
Pagsinta mong di naikukubli
    gaano man nasalanta
Di mabilang pagkakamali
    lumamon ng ating nakatakdang saya
Sa pagsintay nagbabakasakali
    puso’y tanggapin pa kaya

Sayong mga panambitan
    pangunawa’y tuluyang lumalago
Sa paghihimagsik di lalaban
    subalit di rin naman susuko
Mananatiling sayo kaylanman
    umaasang pagibig ay di maglalaho
Kaluluwa’y mapadpad man sa kawalan
Pangalan mo’y nakaukit na sa pagkatao

Maghihintay sa ating bahay kubo.
